Meet JellyfishParty!
Homemade Jelly, Artwork, Clothing, and More!

Hi there! My name is Sarah and I am the creative force behind JellyfishParty. My pronouns are she/her/hers.
What started as a few small art projects in 2023, rapidly evolved into a colorful collection of Bikini Bottom-inspired gifts that I now offer as a way for my customers to spread joy with those they love.
Established on April 1st, 2024, JellyfishParty has evolved its offerings from jellyfish succulents, to matching flower swimsuits, doodle bob bucket hats, tiny hand-drawn stickers, throw pillows, original paintings and now, jelly.
There’s truly a little trinket for everyone.
Tell me about SpongeBob as an inspiration for you. How did this start? Why SpongeBob?
This business all started because I painted a picture of Bubble Buddy from SpongeBob as a Christmas gift for my older brother.
Life had been pretty serious for us growing up, but we were adults now and I wanted to make him feel like a kid for a second.
That painting turned out really good. And so did the next one. And then some other paintings really sucked. And sometimes, I wasn’t even painting at all. But over time, I kept finding myself drawn to the incredibly vibrant colors that I couldn’t wait to mix and layer as I broke the rules a little more with each SpongeBob art project at a time. Pretty soon, my ADHD kicked in with a million more ideas that I now offer today.
As I grow and evolve, so does my business. NEEDMOREJELLY has its own original and happy little jelly niche now, too.
I’m excited to see what naturally comes to life next.
Are there other influences/inspirations for your work that aren’t as immediately apparent?
It has been a happy accident, but I’ve found that my customers seriously inspire me to keep going every time I interact with them.
I’m a lot to process. And so is JellyfishParty. But the people who get it, get it.
And the laughter that I get to experience with my fellow Jellyfishers means everything to me. <3
I also want to give a shout-out to my inner child. Little Sarah was selling drawings of cartoon puppies for candy in the classroom. She knew what she wanted to do back then. Sugar, colors and cartoons are still my muse to this day.
You make a variety of products–artwork, plant hangers, food, etc. What’s your favorite thing to create and why?
Jelly!
I just released my new product line of NEEDMOREJELLY Small-batch Jelly this Spring and it has been such an experience.
Cooking jelly brings me so much joy that it makes me laugh like a mad scientist while I’m maniacally stirring a pot of hot liquid about to boil over. It’s exhilarating. It’s sticky. It’s fun.
I just get into that state of flow that people talk about.
People seem to really love the jelly, too. Maybe even as much as I do. That is so cool.
Is there a particular demographic that responds to your work? Are there any notable interactions you’ve had with customers at markets?
SpongeBob definitely touches a special place in the hearts of a specific age group that grew up with it being on cable television daily. It was on while we waited to head to the school bus stop. It was on when we had half an hour to do chores before Mom got home. It was on even though it kept playing that one episode we didn’t really love, but we watched anyways every single time because it’s SpongeBob, obviously.
It’s an unspoken connection that a lot of us have, as young adults navigating a crazy world.
We were kids not too long ago. I like that my art connects us through that nostalgic experience.
This month is Pride Month, and you are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Does that inform your work, and if so, how?
Yes! Happy Pride! We are here!
I am a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community. I had no idea when I started JellyfishParty that it would connect me to so many incredible people in the Denver community. Love is love is love no matter what it looks like and I get to experience it first-hand at every location you’ll find me.
I like to think that my customers also feel safe in my space. That because my business is a little weird or colorful, they can be their vibrant selves in return.
Is there anything in particular you’re bringing to the next market that you are excited to share?
I will be offering rainbow jellyfish succulents this June! I typically paint my jellyfish succulents to look like the 5 various colors from the Jellyfish Jam episode, but these cuties have all the colors of the rainbow!
Please note: Many people rightfully assume that my string of pearl succulents are alive. They are fake. I don’t have the greenest thumb. I just find these decorations I create to be beautiful and fun. Just remember…a fake plant will never die.
