Hi! I’m Elyse.
I established Dwelling Interior Designs a few years ago and it has been so much fun sharing my vintage finds with Denver. My Interior Design degree blended with a love for vintage led me to what I do now. I source vintage and antique home goods such as lighting, furniture, artwork, mirrors and more from every era and style.
What do you think sets your curation apart from others?
Having studied Interior Design and coming from a very artistic family, it was inevitable I would end up doing something creative.
I found a love in vintage home decor and it blossomed from there.
The focus became blending interior design with vintage.
Offering a selection from every era allows each person to find something they love.
Whether it’s a mid-century chair from the 60s or a postmodern lamp from the 80s, there is something for everyone.
Do you have a favorite item, or genre of things, that you specialize in or collect?
I source vintage and antique home goods and don’t like to limit it to a specific style or era.
When the piece speaks to me, then I know it’s special.
But I will say that glassware is my weakness.
Drink-ware from every era is so beautiful.
Why is shopping for vintage home decor important? Is “vintage” just the aesthetic you like, or is there more to it than that?
Vintage home decor offers a story and a one-of-a-kind-quality. Repurposing and giving it life again. These pieces cannot be replicated and are truly special.
What’s something that the average person doesn’t realize about curating these items?
I am always sourcing and on “the hunt.” Finding these gems takes time and the eye to find them. When I find these vintage pieces they often need some cleaning and maybe even repair but the payoff is worth it. I have a booth at an antique mall and it’s so rewarding to see everything displayed and ready for its new home.
Is there anything in particular you’re bringing to the next market that you are excited to share?
Lots and lots of vintage home decor will be available at my booth at the market – glassware/drinkware, art, mirrors, lighting, jewelry boxes, brass and silver accents, wood accent pieces and so much more!
